Your privacy is important. I will protect it as if it were my own.
I am committed to running a site that doesn’t do anything to you that I wouldn’t want done to me. I carefully guard my own privacy, and I want to be able to enjoy the World Wide Web without worrying about popups, triggering an inflow of spam, the release of information I wouldn’t want released, or compromised financial information.
I want to deliver information, resources and services to you in the most efficient, helpful manner, and also in the least intrusive manner.
My site collects certain information from you in three ways: from Web server logs, with cookies, and directly from you.
Web server logs: When you visit my site, I collect information so that I can better administer the site and see how and how much it is being used, such as what pages you viewed, how many links you clicked within the site, from where you linked to my site, the name of your ISP and your internet protocol address, your state or country, and when you visited.
Personal information from you: If you register to purchase services through my site, or to sign up for email bulletins (neither of which is a currently active function), my site will ask for some personal information.
I may also ask you for your name, address, email address, or telephone number. I may then contact you with information about other products and services, or to assist you with technical support or troubleshooting. If you want to be removed from that list, just let me know and I will delete this information.
Any information I receive I use to make my site better and to assist you. I don’t share or sell any of your information to third parties for any purpose. You can opt out of receiving information from me at any time. I may also provide summary statistics about my clients’ interests and preferences, services sold, traffic patterns, and related site information, to reputable third parties to help me to improve my site. These statistics do not include personal identification information and are only used to enhance the design of my website and customize new service offerings to my clients and site users.
I protect your information by collecting as little of it as possible in order to provide you with the products and services you are looking for. That’s why, for example, my Terms of Service require that you don’t provide me with information through my site about your particular situation. It’s not that I’m not interested – it’s that the safest way for you to tell me about your situation is in the security of my office, behind closed doors. You can also tell me things by telephone or private email, each of which is less secure than face to face, but presumptively more secure than posting things on the site.
The only means and people with whom I will share your information are: (1) duly constituted and acting public officials, but only if I am required by law to do so, (2) with other businesses that I own, (3) with my agents and contractors who assist me with the operation of this site, and (4) with Paypal or a similar payment processing service, to the extent necessary to process electronic payments for services. I do not sell, trade or give your information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Although my general philosophy concerning your privacy will not change, changes in the law, or in the way I administer my site, may require me to make changes to this policy from time to time. According to my Terms of Service, these changes are effective when the new policy is reposted, so whenever you use or visit my site, be sure to check this page to make sure my policy hasn’t changed in any manner you don’t agree with. If any changes make you unwilling to continue to use my site, please drop me an email so that I can address any concerns you may have.
